Dj Archive biography
DJ ARCHIVE BIOG: Having grown up with music at home from when I could crawl then from buying my 1st compilation album @ 9yrs old instead of video games & my 1st 12" at the age of 11/12!!! That was the start of me collecting tunes that I heard on tapes and various radio shows from the
Having a copy was’nt fulfilling enough for me I had to have the source the original in my hands for myself to play and mix how I wanted when I wanted!
VINYL music has been a way of life for sometime now....
I definitely could not imagine my life without tunes man!!!
By around 98’ I now had a fair bit of vinyl so I started deejaying out and about in
My sets were primarily HIP HOP (the real stuff) but I also liked to throw in other genres here and there- if the tunes were PHAT/or CLASSIC for me then I included them in.
I was given the name "Archive" by a fellow co-worker back in
98' (Respect Dave-Dedbeats) when we were both going though each others
record collections with envy/admiration as us deejays sometimes like to do.
Dave told me “Jeez man its like you got the whol’ Archive here!!"
As I've got older I have become more and more hardened against new music
media i.e. CD's, Midi-discs, MPC's and Serato etc...
Try as they might "They" just can not fade out the VINYL!!!!
Vinyl is the original way, it's still being manufactured, it's still
selling and it certainly separates the men from the boys in my opinion (collection / deck skills wise.)
So it will always be that way for me.
PEACE DJ ARCHIVE:
“Remember don’t keep it real – KEEP IT VINYL!!!!”
