DJ One Step Ahead biography

DJ One Step Ahead  started dj’ing approximately twenty years ago in his home town the city of Nottingham.

He made a few mixed tapes and passed them around bars and clubs and also passed them to the club owners and managers from there he never looked back.

After securing some nights in Nottingham’s bars and clubs he was soon approached by Nottingham’s legendary pirate radio station Heatwave radio.

They asked him to do two shows on a weekly basis and he continued to do this for the following six years.

While on the station his profile heightened and he quickly went from playing DJ slots in most of Nottingham’s venues to playing in venues across the UK.

DJ One Step Ahead is a mix and scratch DJ and he has entered more than several DJ competitions over the years and has the trophies to prove it.

He has also been a tour DJ for artists such as 112, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Sean Paul, DMX  to name a few.

He has also done special mixes and guest interview spots for Tim Westwood (Radio 1), 1xtra, Choice fm and Kiss.

His schedule was incredibly busy and this led to him joining Choice fm Birmingham in 1995 which changed to Galaxy Radio where he presented two shows called “Friday and Saturday Night Block Party”.

The genre of music he mainly plays is RnB, Hip Hop and Reggae but never stays within the lines and can switch it up with Commercial House and Garage with a touch of drum and bass.

DJ One Step Ahead takes pride in pleasing the people that attend the events he plays at and always says “I believe in giving the crowd a good time and all ways have a good positive response from people in clubs when I do a set”.

DJ One step Ahead has played along side every headline DJ and Sound System over the years for example Tim Westwood, Trevor Nelson, Dreem Team, Rampage, Semtex, Shortee Blitz, David Rodigan, Tony Matterhorn, Boy George, Seb Fontaine and Heartless Crew just to name a few.
DJ One Step Ahead has also been a features writer for Blues & Soul Magazine for approximately six years.

He is currently working with 97.5 kemet fm  in  Nottingham , they also broadcast on the world wide web which you can listen live on www.975kemetfm.com
DJ One Step Ahead still plays guest spots in venues across the UK and abroad the countries that he has played include France, Holland, Ireland, Africa, Germany and Greece.

DJ One Step Ahead also does  interviews with the cream of U.S AND UK urban artists as he is a DJ/ Radio Presenter/ Music Journalist.

He has worked with various promoters, organizations and companies for example 1st Leisure, Sun City, Ministry of Sound, MTV, Clear Channel and SJM Concerts once again the list goes on.

Club wise DJ One Step Ahead still continues to be in very heavy demand and bookings are normally been taken from a month to six months in advance.
