Campaigners trying to save Victoria Baths have conceded defeat

Demolition will begin in early August of the historic Victoria swimming baths. Campaigners who fought for 12 years to preserve the Victoria Leisure Centre have conceded defeat. It comes after the Government granted Conservation Area consent to Nottingham City Council, making way for parts of the structure to be knocked down and rebuilt. Mat Anderson, from Save Victoria Baths, said the decision was a very sad day for democracy.
