A man accused of disposing of a gun used in the killing of 16-year-old Brendon Lawrence told a prostitute he was going to throw it into the River Trent, a jury heard. The woman told the court the man – known to her as Sergeant but alleged to be defendant Gary Brown – had visited her flat after Brendon was shot in St Ann's in February 2002 The witness, a prostitute nicknamed Bubbles, said "Sergeant" made the comment as he collected the gun from her flat.
